Intimate evening at Stanley Chapter

The installation meeting of Stanley Chapter No 1502 took place at the Southport Masonic Hall recently. It was a very intimate affair; the chapter being only small there were only 14 members present, however the numbers were swelled by eight guests.

After the initial business of the chapter had been conducted Tony Hall Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principles, the principal guest and representative of the Grand Superintendent was admitted in ceremonial style that befitted his rank. Tony was accompanied by Colin Jenkins, Southport Group Chairman; Neil Latham Provincial Grand Treasurer, Richard Frazer-Bastable Provincial Grand Standard Bearer, Derek Midgley and Robert Thornton-Davidson Provincial Grand Stewards.

Once they were all seated Len Adams, Alan Williams and Howard Lawson all rose and offered a warm welcome to Tony and the chapter’s distinguished guests and hoped that they would have a very enjoyable evening.

The two principals elect were then presented to the principals in turn by chapter DC Frazer Wallace to mark the start of the installation proceedings with Howard Lawson as second principal and John Trueman as third principal. Readings at the various times during the ceremony were given by John Wingfield.

Flawless robe addresses were then given by David Marcus to the second principal and Eddie Andrews to the third principal.

Following the installation of the two new principals Len’s first business was to appoint his officers for the ensuing year which he did with style. Following this the address to the three principals was superbly delivered by Frazer Wallace, and the address to the companions of the chapter was delivered word perfectly and in a very persuasive manner by the distinguished guest Tony Hall.

At the conclusion of the installation ceremony, Tony rose to convey congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison, to all who had taken part in the ceremony. Tony added that the evening was very enjoyable and he wished the three principals good fortune and he hoped that they would have a very enjoyable year. Tony then said that if Tony Harrison had been present he would have also congratulated the very confident way in which Frazer conducted the proceedings with excellent support from the other companions who had taken part in the ceremony.

This was then Len’s cue to present to Tony four cheques totaling £400. The first for £100 to the Southport Masonic Hall Foundation, £100 RNLI , £100 to The Friends of Tithebarn and £100 to  Prostate Cancer UK. Tony thanked the companions of Stanley Chapter for their very generous donations especially as it is such a small chapter and thanked them all on behalf of the recipients.
