You may wonder where the money you give to the Masonic Charitable Foundation goes. Well one recipient in the Province of West Lancashire is the Queenscourt Hospice in Southport.
Assistant Provincial Grand Master Robert Wright had the pleasure of presenting a cheque for the generous amount of £1,900 from the MCF to Nicola Hanna, head of fundraising at Queenscourt.
Nicola was interested in the work of the Masons and over a cup of tea, Robert took the opportunity to explain that we are a charitable organisation, who raise money from its members to donate to charitable and community projects worldwide. Furthermore, he explained that next to the national lottery, Freemasonry is the largest donator to charitable causes in the UK, with all hospices and a wide variety of other charitable organisations benefitting nationally.
Nicola asked Robert to pass on thanks from the staff of Queenscourt to the Masons and assured Robert that the money would be put to good use. Subsequently a letter of thanks was received from the hospice gratefully acknowledging the generosity of Freemasonry.
